Leading the way for the women were Nellie Hammons, Katie Decker, Jen Jackman, and Elise Greenwood. Hammons, who had a very successful indoor season, began her outdoor season with a win in the 800 meters (2:10.81). Decker finished second in the high jump with a height of 1.70 meters. Jackman had a great meet finishing third in the 400-meter hurdles. Her time of 1:01.36 is a new personal record and ranks third on Utah's all-time list. Jackman's performance also qualified her for the NCAA Regional Championships. Greenwood finished third in the 5,000-meter run, while notching a time of 17:50.76. On the men's side, Jeff Davidson led the team by placing second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. His time of 9:13.42 was a new personal record and ranks seventh on Utah's all-time list. Colby Frazier also had a good meet placing third in the 1,500-meter run and seventh in the 800-meter run. |
