Title Mitochondrial ATP-Sensitive K Channels, Novel Sites of Neuroprotection Against Glutamate Neurotoxicity in Retinal Neurons

Subject Glutamate Neurotoxicity; Retinal Neurons; Neuroprotection
Description The background of this study originates from our findings about dual actions of nitric oxide (NO) on NMDA-induced neurotoxicity in the retina. Immediately after NO is formed by stimulation of NMDA receptors of amacrine cells, it diffuses freely from its site of origin, passing through membranes and affects all adjacent neurons.
