Description Neuropathic pain results from a pathologic change in a nerve, usually secondary to injury or inflammation. Patients with facial pain often complain of a poorly defined aching, burning, or tingling sensation which is fairly constant in nature, though variable in intensity. The patient can often pinpoint an area of most intense pain from where the facial pain appears to radiate.
