The University of Utah throwing group wrapped up competition at the Wildcat Indoor Open on Thursday with three athletes recording top-three performances. Capturing the spotlight for the Utes was senior Destanae Howerton-Davis and Kassie Nagel's performance in the shot put. The throwers got the day off to a quick start as Utah captured first and second place in the shot put. Howerton-Davis led the way for the Utes with a new personal-best throw of 14.74 meters. Howerton-Davis' throw was not only good enough to capture first overall, but also currently ranks number four on the Utah all time list. Kassie Nagel recorded a throw measuring 13.28 meters to earn second. Representing the Utes in the weight throw was redshirt senior Aoife Hickey. Hickey earned third overall with a mark of 17.44 meters. |
