| Final Score | The University of Utah women's track & field team set multiple personal-records at the Mountain States Games. Leading the way for the Utes was Angela Kaplar who finished first overall in the 60m hurdles. Sophomore Angela Kaplar had a strong performance in the 60m hurdles. Kaplar's time of 8.65 earned her first overall, edging Sacramento State's Alicia Truesdate by .01 seconds. Utah's Alyssa Johnson posted a time of 25.39 in the finals of the 200m, earning her fourth overall in the event. In the 400m event, Stephanie Muelleck set a new personal-record with a time of 1:00.55 (fifth place). Kayla McMurray also set a personal -record in the 400m event, clocking a time of 1:00.65 (sixth place). Brianna LeRoy set four personal-records in the pentathlon. In the shot put, she threw a mark of 33-10.00(tenth). LeRoy hit a mark of 5.56 in the long jump, which was a new personal-best. In the high jump, LeRoy earned first with a mark of 1.72 (personal-best). She finished the 60m in a personal-record time of 9:02(fourth). Overall LeRoy was the event champion and earned 3,642 points, which is a new career-best. In the three-kilometer event, Rebekah Winterton finished third overall with a time of 10:34.26. AuraLea Fain clocked a time of 10:48.81, which earned her seventh-place. Nikki Dotter (10:55.11) and Alexis Laws (11:10.86) finished eighth and ninth, respectively for the Utes. In the shot put event, the Utes had four athletes qualify for the finals. Nikkie Rudder posted a new career-best mark of 46-7.25, which earned her third-place. Candus Aiello placed fourth with a new personal-best throw of 44-5.50. Freshman Destanae Howerton-Davis set a new personal-record with a mark of 43-9.25. Alanna Nulph finished eighth overall with a distance of 41-10.75. In the weight throw, the Utes dominated having four athletes finish in the top 10 spots. Anneli Stahl earned first overall with a personal-record mark of 59-1.25. Cynthia Sanchez finished second overall with a personal-best throw of 58-2.50. Destanae Howerton-Davis earned fifth with a mark of 52-1.25 and Nikkie Rudder posted a mark of 49-1.00 (ninth). |
