| Description | This paper briefly introduces the problems associated with the lack of climate-change and scientific literacy in our community, and recounts the experiences that the author had while attempting to find a solution to this problem. Many articles agree that it is necessary to educate the general public more effectively, and a very powerful was of doing so is by bringing more effectively educating elementary school aged students. The author found, however, that there is still a lot of research and development needed to create an ideal program to do this. Though some programs focus on after-school science classes, it was found that this often does not reach a very large audience, and future projects should focus on working to better prepare teachers in the classroom. |
