Led by sophomore Amanda Mergaert's 18th-place finish, the University of Utah cross country team finished 10th overall, Saturday at the Stanford Invitational (6k). n her 2010 cross country season debut, Mergaert finished first for Utah and 18th overall with a time of 21:19. The second Utah runner to cross the line was Jenny McCune with a time of 22:20 for 54th overall. Nikki Dotter finished shortly later for 70th place (22:39). Freshman Rebekah Winterton completed the course in 22:41 for 73rd. Rounding out the top-5 finishers for the Utes was freshman Alexis Laws with a time of 23:00 for 92nd place. In her first race of the season, Megan Combe finished with a time of 23:23 (108th). The final Utah runner to complete the course was AuraLea Fain with a time of 23:31(115th). |
