Description The corpus callosum is a midline structure that is composed almost entirely of fibers that interconnect major centers of the right and left hemispheres. The corpus callosum can be divided into a rostrum, a genu, a body, and a splenium. Those fibers from the frontal lobe pass in the rostral half of the corpus callosum; the others pass in the caudal half, with parietal lobe fibers anterior to those from the temporal lobe, and occipital fibers located most caudally.
