Description In 1958, Ross described a 32-year-old man with Adie syndrome who had become progressively anhidrotic over 12 years. Ross syndrome is the eponym now given to the triad of tonic pupils, absent muscle-stretch reflexes, and progressive segmental impairment of sweating. Some patients have a compensatory hyperhidrosis in the early stages of the disease. In the late stage, most patients have generalized anhidrosis.
