The most anterior optical surface of the eye, the tear film, is also one of the greatest optical powers of the eye, and a deficient tear film thus is one of the most common causes of fluctuating blurred vision in clinical practice. In fact, optical aberrations caused by an early break-up of the tear film have been shown objectively to diminish image quality. |
