Description Benign Essential Blepharospasm (BEB) is a movement disorder with the characteristic motor sign of involuntary contractions of the orbicularis oculi. Patients often report their spasms to be triggered and exacerbated by light sensitivity to both ambient and bright lights. In a previous study, we demonstrated that a small group of patients with blepharospasm are significantly more light sensitive than controls.
