Subject Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension; Sinus Thrombosis; Pseudotumor Cerebri
Description Idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) occurs most commonly in obese women of childbearing age. Neuroimaging is required to rule out sinus thrombosis or brain tumors. Since computed tomography (CT) may be normal in the setting of sinus thrombosis, many patients undergo magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) with venography (MRV). It is unknown if certain clinical characteristics increase the likelihood of finding a sinus thrombosis.
