Leading the way for the women at the Hornet Invitational were Vanessa Mortensen, Kristy Slade, Katie Decker, Jen Jackman, and Brooke LoBue. Mortensen began her outdoor season with a win in the hammer throw (57.48m). Decker finished first in the high jump with a height of 1.67 meters. Jackman had another great meet finishing first in the 400-meter hurdles (61.31). Slade notched a win in the long jump with a distance of 5.80 meters and LoBue took the pole vault with a height of 3.70m. On the men's side, Jeff Davidson, Torin Koos, and Nephi Tyler led the team. Davidson won the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of (9:42.56). Koos won the 1,500 meters with a time of 3:51.68 while Tyler finished first in the 5,000 meters with a time of (14:57.11). |
