Developing conchae with supporting hyaline cartilage scaffolds (*) (light-stained) are present in the nasal chamber (1) and known as inferior (lowest), middle and superior turbinate bones. The whole chamber is lined by a reddish stained epithelium (↓). At the lower bottom two cross-sections of paranasal sinuses (2) with the same type of lining epithelium and red-stained glands. Blue-stained trabecular bone (3) of the fetal skull is well developed; note the upper right part of the fetal skin with developing hair structures (4). |
