Description We have previously observed efficient incorporation of putative stem cells derived from adult bone marrow (aBMSC) in the retina following ischemic optic neuropathy (AION). These cells expressed endothelial, myeloid, glial and neural markers, which correlated well to their anatomic position within the retina.
