Description |
An 80 ton mechanical mole with a cutting fact of 13 feet in diameter gnawed its way through to fresh air and the end of drilling in the Central Uath Project's Water Hollow Tunnel. When the aqueduct systen was complete, it delivered water to triple the capacity of Strawberry Reservoir. The total of 94, 600 cubic yards of material removed from the tunnnel were dumped into the Strawberry Reservoir Basin where it was covered with water when the reservoir was enlarged. |
