Title |
Planning for Difference a study in intercultural design of urban natural and green spaces |
Date |
2018 |
Description |
This project explores how the traditional planning process treats place-making of urban natural and green spaces. Specifically, this project attempts to develop and execute an inclusive design process which adopts the context of development for inter-cultural use. First, this author explores how cultural minority populations view urban natural and green space through an analysis of various case studies. Specifically, these studies are essential to the development of the project research methods. Second, the author discusses the methods used for data collection. These methods include focus groups, general surveys, and a "found objects" activity. Finally, the author describes the methods used to develop the project and the guiding principles for the execution of a final landscape design. |
