Ranging east and west for some 150 miles, they are the highest in Utah and are the only major East-West mountain range in the United States. The Ashley National Forest lies in this high, geologically unique setting. Within its borders are Kings Peak, highest point in the State of Utah, 13,498 feet high, and many other rugged peaks over 13,000 feet in elevation.
