Description Treatment of raised intracranial pressure is both medical and surgical. It is aimed mainly at lowering of intracranial pressure and secondarily at treating symptoms directly (e.g. headache). Unfortunately, all reports to date are anecdotal as there have not been any controlled clinical treatment trials for idiopathic intracranial hypertension.
