Abstract McPhie (b. 1923) volunteered for the Navy and went from Mare Island to Midway. He served on the submarine Finback, which completed five patrols before the end of the war. He describes a rescue of five men, one of whom was George Bush. Other topics include life aboard a submarine, depth charges, and rest camps between patrols. 25 pages.
