Description Optical coherence tomography (OCT) demonstrates thinning of the peripapillary retinal nerve fiber layer (P-RNFL) and inner macular layers in patients with chronic optic neuropathy, including those with multiple sclerosis (MS) and a history of optic neuritis (ON). We sought relationships between each layer of the macula and the P-RNFL in demyelinating and compressive optic neuropathy.
