Description |
High Blood Pressure is a major cause of morbidity and mortality. There are four Target Organ Damage (TOD) of poorly controlled Hypertension: the Heart, the Kidney, the Brain and the Optic nerve and Retina. In many cases, patient are unaware of their condition since this disease can be asymptomatic. Papillary edema and retinopathy are some times, the only presenting signs. Papillary Edema and Hypertensive Retinopathy are a predictor of systemic morbidity and mortality due to Target Organ Damage. |
