Description |
This is a letter from Thomas L. Smith responded to a letter from Brigham Young asking about trading practices in Bear River. In this letter, Thomas L. Smith explained the costs of the items he sold, as well as the different items that he traded for. According to Smith, a trader exchaned items with an Indian and Smith assumed that he did this because he was afraid that "the Valley people would go and trade with the Utes." |
