Description |
Walter S. Atwood Residence, Murray, Utah. Home made of first Utah bricks-1864. Gift of the Salt Lake Tribune Library. First home built of kiln-dried bricks was that of Walter H. Atwood in Murray. He made these bricks in 1864 and later made the bricks for the Salt Lake theater chimney. By this time adobe bricks were quite common and both types were an improvement over the log homes of the pioneers. |
