Description |
Approach to Dale Creek Bridge. It was only a few miles beyond Sherman that the construction crews met one of their most spectacular bridge-building challenges: the Dale Creek Bridge. Here the route snaked through rocky ridges of granite. Trains slowed to a crawl before they reached the chasm. Photo by Andrew J. Russell. 1868-69 |
