Amtrak (National Railroad Passenger Corporation) diesel locomotive number 652 (No. 652) at the Salt Lake City Depot on May 14, 1992. This is one of a number of second-hand diesel units bought by the Passenger Corporation to augment its power fleet. These units were freight units modified for passenger service. During the first half of 1992, Amtrak has been keeping a spare unit in Salt Lake City to substitute for its units that go bad. Donor & Photographer: Mike B. Davis. |
