Description History: A 72-year-old man was referred with a silent right proptosis for three months with no functional deficit. In addition, he had a 20 pound weight loss in the past six months. Anatomy: Orbit; Parietal Bone; Parietal Lobe; Zygoma. Disease Diagnosis: Prostatic Neoplasms. Etiology: Prostatic Neoplasms. Neuroimaging: Axial CT scan of a proptosed right eye with a subtle lesion along the lateral wall of the right orbit. Coronal CT scan with a very thickened right zygoma and parietal bones with a soft tissue coating in the orbit and parietal lobe. Multiple sites of metastases of the metastatic prostatic cancer which was then discovered by prostate biopsy. Pathology: Cytologic specimen obtained by fine needle aspiration of the superior right orbit obtained along the bony lateral superior wall. The Papanicolaou stain reveals malignant prostate cancer cells. A photomicrograph stained with hemotoxin and eosin demonstrating the malignant prostatic cells. Presenting Symptom: Silent right proptosis for three months; 20 pound weight loss in the past six months. Treatment: Radiotherapy
