The treated venom or toxoid was studied to see what effects NBS had on the venom protein content of C. atrox venom. Venom proteins were studied grossly with acrylamide gel disc electrophoresis and protein content was measured using the Biuret assay. Additional tests were conducted on the lethal toxicity (LD50) of the toxoid and its ability to actively immunize experimental animals. |
