"But behold, verily, verily, I say unto thee, no one shall be appointed to receive commandments and revelations in the church excepting my servant Joseph Smith, Jr., for he receiveth them even as Moses."-Doctrine and Covenants, Sec. 28:2. It teaches that authority to officiate in the gospel is vested only in the said priesthood; that this priesthood is the only medium between God and man; that it is invested with the very power of God himself; so that when it acts and speaks it is in the most real sense God who acts and speaks. <br><br> CLAIMS <br><br> 1.
