Description |
Malignant neoplasms that originate within the paranasal sinuses are uncommon and constitute only 0.20.8% of all systemic malignancies. Most of these lesions are carcinomas, with squamous cell carcinoma being by far the most common histologic type. The tumors most often originate in the maxillary sinus, but they may arise within the frontal, ethmoid, and sphenoid sinuses as well. These tumors usually occur in older patients, and men are affected more frequently than women. |
