Description |
Disulfiram is a drug with a role, albeit a small one, in the treatment of chronic alcoholism. Disulfiram interferes with the metabolism of acetaldehyde, a metabolic product of ethanol. The concurrent ingestion of alcohol and disulfiram causes uncomfortable symptoms, including flushing, nausea, and vomiting as a result of the accumulation of acetaldehyde. |
