Description Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a potent tool in both the clinical and research realms as it is non-invasive and allows views into optically opaque specimens. Extremely high-resolution MRI (MR microscopy-MRN) is an emergent technique which provides three-dimensional views in intact living animals or excised tissue. The high-resolution in combination with the availability to view the tissue in any plane allows this method to complement established morphological approaches.
