| Description |
Denver and Rio Grande Western RR baggage / dormitory / coach #1230 on train #8, The Prospector, in June of 1962 at the Salt Lake City Union Depot. Dorm compartment used by the dining car crew for sleeping quarters on the overnight train #7 / #8. Car was built by Pullman-Standard Car Manufacturing Company in 1950. Still in use by the Rio Grande in 1986. After The Prospector was discontinued in 1968, the car was used on the Rio Grande Zephyr between Denver and Salt Lake City. Photographer / Donor: Mike B.
