Description |
John McCook and Sam Atchee report that they are not being paid (although payment was promised) for allowing sheep to cross through his allotment. Witchits, Joseph Arrive, and John McCook suggest building an irrigation ditch at White River. Chipeta seconds the aforementioned statements. Agent Brees suggests that, in lieu of payment, the Uncompahgres should inform him when sheep are crossing their land and he will remove them. Brees also claims the ditch at White River should be built and explains why John A. Blair was denied citizenship in the tribe. The group discusses payment and interest due to the Indians for their land |
