ISO Update by Steve Scott A. Tools: New rootkit and password tools: Backtrack2 â€" great updated tools, but use only on your own network!! B. Updates Question about Windows DNS issue. We received notification about 3 utah.edu machines from an outside group that we work with, REN-ISAC, and passed that information on to the LAN admins. VNC was probably just an old hack that resurfaced. ISO uses Nessus, Foundstone, not doing routine scans. Would use these Backtrack2 tools in an audit situation. ISO has received 5 DMCA hotspot complaints . . . a little high for the number of users. Will be talking more about this. May also have some CALEA issues. CALEA is a regulation that allows the Feds to get into your network (wiretapping for data); we may be subject to it.
