Siatkowski et al first reported FA abnormalities among patients with giant cell arteritis (GCA) who did not experience visual symptoms. This symptomatically 'silent' subgroup of patients may be at high risk to develop AION- related visual loss. They also reported normal FA findings in the non-arteritic ischemic optic neuropathy ( NAION ) patients. |
