Description |
Color drawing of the Temple of Sinawava in Zion National Park. Back of card is captioned, "The Temple of Sinawava in Zion National Park was once the sacred council chamber of the Pah-Utes and other Indian tribes dwelling in Southern Utah. The floor of the Canyon is the "Temple" floor canopied by the sky, with gigantic sandstone walls rising perpendicularly 1,500 feet or more. In the middle foreground to the left stretch the pillared pipes of the Great Organ, forming the south wall of the temple. In the left middle distance stands El Gobernador (The Great White Throne), two miles away. To the right, in the middle distance rises Angels Landing. Cedar City on the Union Pacific System, 275 miles south of Salt Lake City, is the rail gateway to Zion National Park and other Southern Utah and Northern Arizona scenic attractions." |
