Description |
MFS occurs in the same clinical setting as AIDP, with the majority of cases occurring after a recent viral or bacterial infection. There appears to be a similar association between C. jejuni infection and MFS as with AIDP. MFS also has been reported after vaccination, and individual cases have occurred in association with systemic lupus erythematosis, membranous glomerulonephritis, immunosuppressive therapy for rheumatoid arthritis, and the use of gold salts as treatment for rheumatoid arthritis. |
