Show April 30, 1923 Mr. Henry J. Armstrong, 1045 E. So. Temple S t ., Salt Lake City, Utah. Dear Sir: Your letter of April 13th addressed to the Secretary of the Interior with further reference to the Piute Indians in southeastern Utah, has been referred here for reply. Since the receipt of your former letter and th Secretary's answer under date of April 13th, arrangements have been made for giving these Indians all necessary assistance. Instructions have been issued to one of our allotting agents to proceed to Utah, and assist the Indians in filing applications for allotment under the General Allotment Act . Our Superintendent of the Consolidated Ute Agency at Ignacio, Colorado, has been instructed to accompany the allotting agent and to make a thorough investigation with a view to the establishment of one or more schools for the benefit of the Indian children.
