Orson Pratt (1811-1881) was an early leader in the LDS Church. Although he often disagreed with Church leaders, he became a prominent apostle in Utah. He was the first Mormon to enter the Salt Lake Valley in 1847 and taught astronomy, mathematics, and algebra at the University of Deseret. |
