This is a letter form Brigham Young to Orsen Hyde who is living in Liverpool, England. In this letter Brigham Young discusses the issues that Mormon settlers had with the Indians who lived around Utah Lake. The Indians killed cattle and shot at settlers. Young claimed that the Mormon settlers responded violently in self defense, and only after killing some Indians did they retreat. |
