Description In November 1869, six months after the Union Pacific and Central Pacific railroads joined at Promontory, Ogden's first Union Depot was constructed. It was built of crude boards and painted a violet red and offered few comforts. However, it was used for 20 years. In 1887 a new building was constructed. It was completed in 1889. February 14, 1923 the entire south wing and tower section of the depot went up in flames. In November of the same year, the third Union Depot, still servicing the Ogden terminal, was opened to the public. Gift of M.J. Burson.
