Description |
Stockton Historical Marker William P. Edwards--Donor. Here are the briefs of "The Salt Lake Tribune" from 100, 50, and 25 years ago: September 3, 1880. STOCKTON, Utah-This evening the Great Basin Smelting and Concentrating Works were for the first time lit up with a Brush electric light, in the presence of General P.E. Connor, manager, and a large number of ladies and gentlemen, who were present to witness the novelty. Two electric lamps were used which illuminated the entire building in brilliancy second only to sunlight. This is the first electric light introduced in the territory, with the exception of the one accompanying Cole's circus. |
