Show A studio portrait of the Reverend Douglas Wallace and his wife whose name is not given. Reverend Wallace is dressed in pastoral and has little hair, but on the sides of his head. He also has a moustache. He is wearing wire rimmed eye glasses without ear pieces. There is an eye glass chain extending from the back of his ear to his neckline. Mrs. Wallace is wearing a dress with a high collar and elaborate smocking and needlework down the front. Her hair is pulled on top of her head. The background is a highlighted backdrop illuminated by a spotlight. |

The back of the photograph says: "Rev. Douglas Wallace & Mrs Wallace Supt of St. Marks Hospital 1894 -" The photo is oval with a large dark green mat. On the front the studio's insignia, "Chase Studio Salt Lake City" has been embossed into the mat on the upper left hand corner. At the bottom center there is another insignia, a crest or an emblem with the name, "Chase" running diagonally through it. It appears that two tiny holes parallel to each other have been made in the bottom half of the emblem. The overall condition of the photograph is good but the dark green matting shows faint signs of wear with a few glue stains on the back. Other than these minor infractions the photograph is very sturdy. |
