Black and white photograph from Edward La Chapelle's 1959 study of avalanche hazards in a proposed (but never-built) ski area around Provo Peak in Utah County, Utah. This photo shows the basin at the head of Bartholomew Canyon. Provo Peak is just out of picture to the left. This is an area of large and frequent avalanches. |
