Home at 231 E. Vine Street built in 1890 |
Subject |
Murray Historic Registry |
Description |
These wood frame houses (with 237) provide interesting contrast to other brick homes that remain from Atwood Row. An early pioneer, Simeon Atwood, produced the first fired brick which was more durable than adobe bricks. According to Murray history, one of these little frame houses was likely built by Walter Henry Atwood for his wife Deidamia and his second wife, Julia Dibble. Charles & Jennie Earl owned and lived in this house in 1971. |
