| Description | Part 1 of a home movie by Alton C. Melville featuring the Melville Family's trip to Europe, where Marvin competes in various ski races. The first footage covers Marvin racing in the Alta Snow Cup in Utah, a slalom race under the FIS Alpine heading. The beginning of the European footage shows the family arriving in Amsterdam where they then board a ferry and then get back onto a plane. They arrive in Germany where they go sight seeing. Some scenes show ruins of buildings, probably due to World War II bombing. Later they arrive at Munich and travel to the Bad Gastein ski resort in Austria for the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships. Marvin races in a slalom, giant slalom, and downhill race. Marvin's race number is 23. Length: 15 minutes, 41 seconds |
