Show This is a photograph of the dilapidated and abandoned Presbyterian Church at Corinne, Utah. It is a barn like structure with a tower added to the front of the building. The front entrance has no door and there are large openings in the upper section of the tower. A ladder is learning up against the side. There is a large tree on the right side of the photograph. A telephone pole, the telephone line, and part of a single story frame building with a window and chimney can be seen on the left side of the church. Weeds are growing in front of and at the side of the church. The rest of the ground is bare. The top of another building can be seen in back of the church. |

"This date is incorrect. The Corinne church dedicated in 1870 was a beautiful building that was destroyed in a bad storm in 1894. After sharing services in the Methodist Church for some years, the old Episcopal church building ("very dilapidated") was obtained about 1897. A bell tower was planned for the building and constructed in 1899; a new bell was hung in the tower the same year." Dr. Fred Burton, Aug. 8, 2007 Sepia Slide. Numbers and titles for the Russell H. Goodman slide collection were taken from an accompanying list. This photograph is listed as number 13. The list also includes the following paragraph: HISTORIC PROTESTANT CHURCHES OF THE WEST Photographs taken by Mr. and Mrs. Russell H. Goodman, in whose [names] these duplicate slides are presented to the Archives of Westminster College by Willard R. Harwood and Emil Nyman. |
