The expedition started in Green River, Utah, on June 20, 1938 and ended at Lake Mead, Arizona on August 1, 1938. Lake Mead is the largest reservoir in the United States in maximum water capacity. On July 30 they reached the eastern end of Lake Mead, where at full capacity it reaches into the Grand Canyon east of the Grand Wash Cliffs. |
