Wireless Update by Dave Packham Hotspot is now working in pre-deployment. The Clean Access server will be 3-4 hops away from the APs, because traffic goes out using MPLS to the campus WAN router then and then back in to the University. It looks just like you're on Comcast. The addresses given out are all in the 204.99.x.x ip space. Later today we'll bring it up on Trapeze gear in Union. If you want it, call the Help Desk and open a Troubleticket. If you don't have Trapeze gear, Tim can get a VLAN configured on your demarc switch. Secure.utah.edu will continue to be available on OIT-run APs through the end of the year and we suggest that all department-run APs stop broadcasting it then, too. Some departments may take a little longer (same with insecure if there is a real need.). Dan H: There is a rumor about additional funding for Trapeze wireless? Bryan: Steve Hess has a commitment for all academic depts. To replace hardware with Trapeze this year or next. We want to handle areas with faulty equipment first. Send email to Bryan at bryan.morris@utah.edu. First priority goes those that put in the request, then those who have already started moving that direction.
